Gigaset A220A cordless phone with answering machine (trio kit)

So far phone works well but answering machine displays 'new message' every time there is a missed call as well as any message left This can be annoying especially as there is no caller ID ever displayed . Also there is no flashing light to indicate that there is a new message. Will be upgrading to a better answering system but will have to get one that will be compatible with the A220 handsets.
