Descent into madness
This is THE best of this type of horror movie. It has everything you'll need to scare the bejesus out of you, plus you'll squirm with claustrophobic delight. If you're looking for a horror movie involving caves, this is the one to get. -kd5-

Entertaining movie...
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this to replace my VHS copy (one of the last remaining), also bought the 2-Disc SE because they cut 5 minutes out of the movie in the currently available release (116 min. vs. 111 min.) This is a fun children's adventure movie that adults can enjoy just as much as the kids. I'd been wanting to add this to my collection for awhile, and retire the VHS copy that I had. Glad to finally own it. -kd5-

Fabulous story with great rewatch value
Haven't read the books, had no expectations when watching this movie, was thoroughly entertained by it. Now I have the books so I'll see what I missed but that won't change how I feel about the movie. My wife and I both enjoyed this movie, it has great rewatch value, I'm just sad they opted not to film The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. I guess The Church wasn't too keen on Dæmons vs. souls so their outcry killed the trilogy in its infancy. So sad.
