A cracking investment
Tried some screw on close up filters as an intro to macro work but soon found that chromatic aberrations could easily ruin a pic. So thought it time to get a macro lens.
I use a Lumix GH4 so at first looked at the new Lumix 30mm macro lens which I nearly bought but was put off by how close you needed to get to the subject for 1:1. The Olympus 60mm macro looked good as well but the lens is a little too long and there would be no OIS on a Panny body.
Either of these two lenses would be a bargain new given the price and image quality but this Leica 45mm lens looked to be the best option (for me). It is too expensive new (given the other 4/3rds options) however it is a deal breaker second hand - so much easier and more flexible in use than the filters and the image quality is superb whether at normal distances or close up.

Sounds of silence (almost)
1 of 1 found this helpful I'd seen mixed reviews on various similar products but having used another X8R product thought this seal was worth a punt.
Even tho my van doors had been sound deadened there was still that horrible typical T5 rattly noise on closing the cab doors. Well, for a few quid and a few minutes of my time, this seal has fixed that - don't know about comparison to a Golf but it certainly is on a par with any half decent car door.
Too early to comment on durability but the quality is there so hopefully it'll last - but at the price I wouldn't hesitate to replace with the same should I need to.
Couple of pointers: a) seen some reports of water collecting inside the seal - my fix was to shape the seal ends to the door shape then superglue the open ends of the seal shut.
b) one door required just a little more effort to close fully, not slamming it tho - suspect this will ease as the seal settles in/compresses with use.

Just what we needed
1 of 1 found this helpful Not used 'in anger' yet but have tried it on the van and it's a great, easy to use method of connecting awning to van. The magnets should hold in a reasonable wind, maybe if a storm is brewing I might use supporting straps (already on the awning).
Product is well made.
Note: some other on-line reviews noted that the magnets were not up to it - this is probably because they were being used the wrong way around or one or more magnets were not put in correctly at the factory. There is a definite stronger pull to one side of the magnetic strips, easily tested by attaching to a metal surface.
On the connector we received, 2 of the 3 magnetic strips were OK - for the 3rd we unpicked the pocket seam, took the magnet out and flipped it over so it's polarity matched the other strips, put it back in it's pocket and sewed the seam back up.
