Replaced noisy fans on Asus RX480 Dual OC (8gb)
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought the Gelid Solutions 4 Pin PWM Adaptor Cable for VGA Cooler Fans so I could replace the stock cooling fans on the Asus RX480 Dual OC graphics card. The stock fans cooled the card but the noise levels were unacceptable. I used 2 Noctua A9 pwm fans; these are 4 pin fans. I connected the two with a splitter. The spillter connects to the Gelid adapter which can then be connected to the graphics card. Works perfectly! Noise levels are down significantly!

Evercool Fox 2
1 of 1 found this helpful Great little fan! Noisy but does the job really well. I intended for it to serves as a means of dissipating the heat generated from my graphics card (Asus RX 480 dual oc 8gb). The card would produce 89 degrees C on the card and 113 degrees C on the VRM (voltage control modulator). The air flow in my case didn't help matters but since installing the Evercool Fox 2 the temps have plummeted to 75 on the card and 72 on the VRM. Massive gains! I installed the exhaust so that the fan faces the back of the graphics card. I had to mod my case slightly since the pci slot I used was obstructed by the sound i/o module. I used a bit of Meccano and got it stay put.
The noise level is much of a muchness, the RX 480 fans hit 2800rpm when gaming (Shadow Of Mordor) and this pretty much generatea noise on par with the exhaust. The noise level isn't 'jet engine' as described by some users on certain forums but the sound is noticeable in a very silent room - I'd say it's less noisy than a hair dryer!
I will be getting a fan controller so I can turn the fan on and off (I'll switch it on for gaming). There maybe a way to control the fan via the mobo using a molex to 3 pin fan header adapter but I'd have to play around with it to figure it out. All in all for £5.49 (p&p incl.) it is a fantastic little fan and does what no other fan in my case can! I do recommend this to anyone who is having temp issues with their graphics card and it solves air flow issues in poorly designed cases.
Poynting XPOL-2-5G V3 Directional Cross Polarised LTE MIMO Antenna
30 Jun, 2020
Poynting lives up to it's reputation!
Pros: Boosted 4G LTE signal stats significantly and this is set up in the loft, not outside on the roof yet.
RSRQ without antenna = -13.0dB, with antenna = -7.0dB
RSRP without antenna = -109dB, with antenna = -89dBm
RSSI without antenna = -77dB, with antenna = -63dBm
SINR without antenna = -3dB, with antenna = 5dB
No antenna download/upload speeds = fluctuated between 0.5 and 17mbs for down and up, with the antenna = 34mbs/27mbs - very little fluctuations. I do have the router locked onto 4G only on the 1800mhz frequency (band 3 in the UK for the Three network). I'm using a Huawei B535-232 router and i have obstructed line of sight to the mast which is about 1 mile from my property.
I imagine the signal would be even cleaner and DL/UL speeds would probably max out as if i were stood next to the mast (75+/40+).
Cons: Might be tricky setting this up on the chimney as it came with a 5m cable (unless i figure a way to send the cable down the chimney itself.
I would highly recommend this product - it is also 5G ready (which is bonus) and for this price there are no competing antenna!
