Excellent block plane easy to use and adjust; producing great results
I bought this 69 1/2 low angle block plane as 'factory seconds' expecting to have to fettle but only needed to put an edge on the blade - which is normal for any cutting tool. A previous Axminster Rider 'seconds' plane I had purchased had a small amount of rough casting to file off (no more than a couple of minutes work)
Once sharpened I tested it on the end grain of a piece of timber I knew to be problematic but this little gem went through it like a knife through butter. It also left a beautifully clean smooth finish,
The plane sits comfortably in the hand and has the right 'heft' for working comfortably and easily.
Adjustment is easy and smooth and I have used it for a number of tasks such as finishing dovetail joints. It is always a joy to use and produces excellent results.
All in all a cracking little plane and as a 'seconds' has been excellent value for money. If you are wary of possible fettling, I would say the 'First Quality' one is still well worth the money,

Good quality and cost effective
These stainless weight retainers are great for keeping lead weights from sliding about on weight belts but are equally useful for locking other kit (such as 'D' rings) on to thick webbing. If they do not lock your 'D' ring on to your webbing then your webbing is almost certainly too lightweight - so keep the retainers and change the webbing!
I find it worthwhile keeping a few of these in my 'odds & sods' bag together with a few 'D' rings and some spare webbing and as they can be useful in so many situations I would never buy less than 4 t a time!

Great little year planner
Great year planner for keeping track of all events in the personal calender. Small enough to fit in my Filofax mini with meetings, birthdays, trips etc all noted on a single sheet - perfect!
