Clips ok but tool bought separately need modifying above.
A cheap (£4) hand crimp tool, which is flat needs modifying so your one hand use of 3 fingers and thumb can control the squeeze as you crush the clip around the drive shaft boot (plastic ones require a more accurate squeeze so the buckle does not spring out the 3 hooks on the clip-later on). On rubber boots it' does not need such a precise squeeze-rubber flexes more than plastic/rubber boots. I used 2.5mm Dia steel wire, bent in a vice to produce a long loop to get your fingers in so your 3 fingers wrap round the wire and reach easier than the wrapping them round the 2nd lever on the crimp tool. Control is achieved. A 2 hand use of the tool is not possible-for the amateur- and the tool arms need bending out to keep the tool head at rt. angles to the clip buckle and to clear the tyre buldge.
