Great phone, but what's up with the battery life?
3 of 4 found this helpful Everyone knows the iPhone is an engineering marvel, and the 5S is everything you'd expect. It's beautiful to look at and has just the right heft to feel substantial, yet is light enough that it feels modern and fits smoothly in your pocket. It's also intuitive. I hear folks in the Android community talk about how much more advanced their phones are than the current iPhone and so much cheaper, too. But I see no point in buying a phone with better specs when using it is painful and configuring it to work smoothly takes both an abundance of time and technical know-how. The iPhone simply works, beautifully, and right out of the box.
The only problem is that it doesn't work for long enough. The battery on the 5S leaves much to be desired. I even had my battery replaced with a new Apple battery thinking the battery was bad. Nope. Today, I got two hours of active use and 12 hours of standby. I had WiFi off since I was work, and I know leaving the WiFi on when the phone can't connect drains the battery. I did a little research today and have since gone and turned off all app notifications. But still, compared to the iPad Air, the 5S's battery leaves much to be desired.
