Solo Portable Spreader 421 distributes (up to 20lbs) pellets, sand etc

Wide Broadcasting. Easy to Use. Difficult to use volume control

I have a large lawn area and previously made use of a bucket and cast the fertilizer granules by hand. I decided to purchase the Solo and very happy with it. Fill it up, strap it on (strap over the right shoulder and under the left shoulder). Move the volume control slider to determine the amount of fertilizer to distribute. There is a knob that allows the slider to only go to a predetermined maximum position. The broadcast area is very wide and broadcasting is quite even. I used to use 10 20kg bags but now just use 1 to cover my lawn area. The result is just the same but much more economical - it would appear I have been using way too much in the past. A lot less walking as the broadcast area is so wide. One drawback is the volume control slide lever which is located at the rear of the device which needs to be closed when filling and opened when ready to start broadcasting. It is located by touch at the ear of the device and difficult to find. The Solo is so much better than hand casting and I am delighted with the broadcast width and how little I actually need to produce the same results. The Solo appears well made and it's a recommended buy. One star was taken off because of the difficulty in using the volume control lever.

These solenoids are identical to the ones they replaced. Hence, they fitted perfectly. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind they are genuine.
