Brand name at a budget price
One of these batteries brought my car remote key fob back to life as I had hoped. At this price it wouldn't have mattered if it hadn't worked but I'm glad it did as it saved me buying an expensive new key! I bought 2 so I have a spare for next time.

    Garmin Nuvi 350
This is the 1st sat nav system I've owned though I have previously used several models of my friends. I bought it because I've started doing voluntary work which involves visiting people's homes which can be difficult to find in an unfamiliar area. The 350 does its job very well, guiding me to the destination reliably and accurately, constantly showing the estimated arrival time. This is incidently rather optimistic; I have achieved the initial estimate on a clear road but more often the time is constantly getting later so it is best to allow an extra 5-10 minutes for an hour's trip. It has a detour function which will steer you round a bad traffic jam and get back en route as soon as the roads allow and an extra part can be purchased to warn of current traffic conditions. If you go off the selected route it recalculates within 3-4 seconds and gives new instructions. One of the selling points for me was the Text to Speech function which enables it to pronounce the street name, useful at a complicated junction. It's also surprisingly sucessful at pronouncing names of your saved locations. At this point I should mention that the volume of the built in speaker does not get particularly loud before starting to sound rather strained and unclear; I would say just about adequate bearing in mind that I drive a noisy old car and like to have music on as I drive. It's no surprise given the unit's compact size; it slips easily into an inside jacket pocket and comes with a protective case - another selling point for me. The volume problem can be overcome thanks to 2 more great features;a headphone jack which means you can hear instructions through earphones (or the car stereo if you have an audio input or cassette adaptor); and an mp3 player which then enables you to listen to your recorded music in the same way. The music is muted for a moment when instructions are delivered. There's no control for the balance between the music and instructions but I didn't find this a problem. The 360 uses a flip up antenna to receive gps signals which means it's not good for putting in a pocket and navigating while walking although it has settings for several modes of travel including walking and cycling. An unexpected bonus of this is that flipping the antenna down switches off the gps reception and you are invited to tell the unit where you are by touching the map. This enables you to find a route starting at a location different from your actual position eg. "How long will it take to go from Dave's to the airport?" (Dave lives 30 miles away). A little more about the extras; as well as the mp3 player there's an audible book player (you pay for books on Garmin's site), a picture viewer, a language converter, calculator, currency convertor, world clock, measurement convertor and travel guide (a payable extra). There's not much space left to store your music and pics but there is a SD card slot making this very expandable. I am impressed with the charging options; included are a mains adaptor, the usual car charger and a standard usb cable which will charge from a pc. The paper instructions are scanty but there is a built in manual to display on a pc and the unit is so intuitive that it's easy to learn how to use it by trial and error. Two more attractive features are full western Europe mapping and speed camera locations. It also warns of popular mobile camera sites. All in all a great product especially bearing in mind that it cost under £100!
