not engaging
1 of 1 found this helpful Despite the good reviews, I found this book shallow, pointless and absolutely non-engaging, however well-written. The story is about attractive young things leading shallow lives. The main female character, Lydia, is, to say the least, irritating, spoilt and empty-headed.
As for the hard copy, seller sent me a paperback described as 'in good condition'. Oh, really? It came apart as soon as I started reading it and I had to secure it with tape all the way through.
Only good for the recycling bin.
Disappointing.

a good read, typical RR
I love Ruth Rendell's thrillers and when I saw a few listed on this site I bought one or two that had escaped me in the past.
This is quite typical in that it's set in NW London, there are several interlinked characters who are cleverly portrayed in all their quirkiness and eccentricities.
Unfortunately, getting close to the crucial part of the story, about 20 pages had a burn that covered a third of each page, each with a hole in the middle. Very disappointing, but it kept me guessing till I found a clear page towards the end.
Oh, and I did get my money back, but not a word from the seller!
Good read, if you can find an undamaged copy.

great for colds, sore throats and more
it was given to me many years ago by my Chinese acupuncturist in sachet form. He called it "Anti-Infection". At the time I had a chest infection and it worked quickly. Since then I have used it in non-sugary form (as above) for anything from colds to sore throats and flu for the whole family. I always keep a spare pot at home
