Something you absolutely must try
2 of 2 found this helpful Tapping is what is known as an EFT (emotional freedom technique). The theory is that by combining a bit of modern psychology with ancient Chinese accupressure, you can sort out all manner of problems (both physical and mental) by manipulating the body's energy meridians. I'm not going to go into detail, so I'll just say that it is quick to learn, and simple to do. A session typically takes less than 10 minutes.
The big one- does it work? Well, I've been hypertensive for years, and despite the chemical cocktails I take my blood pressure readings were invariably on the high side, nothing seemed to work.
I bought this book, started tapping, and after 2 days my readings were normal. Will I be able to keep it normal without needing to take pills? Let's see.
And then I'll see if I can't shift a few surplus pounds.
I'm not saying that this will cure anything and everything, but my friend (who introduced me to the concept) reduced her crippling back pain to what is effectively a mild twinge here and there.
I'm a believer.

Like twilight or Underworld? you should love this
This was panned by the critics, which I reckon was a great injustice- I loved it.
There's a girl in a red cloak, a granny (in a minor role) and a wolf (well, a werewolf to be specific), and that's where any similarity with the fairytale ends.
Set somewhere around the 1600s in a village in Northern Europe, all snow-covered pine forests, the villagers have lived for years with a werewolf in the woods, but they're not too worried- a truce exists and no-one had died for a long time. Then, at the time of the "blood moon" (when the moon turns orange, happens once every so many years) Red Riding Hood's older sister is found dead in the cornfield, ripped to pieces. The truce appears to be over, but why? And why, when the werewolf traps Red in an alleyway, does it not hurt her? And why can she understand what it is saying, even though everyone else only hears growls and snarls?
Some good perfomances from Amanda Seyfried (Mama Mia) as Red Riding Hood, the cop out of Twilight (Bella Swan's dad) as her dad, and Gary Oldman as a sword-in-one-hand, Bible-in-the-other holy warrior count come to get rid of the beast.
At times, Red Riding hood's cloak is ridiculously long, and this indicates a dream sequence. Took me a while to figure it out! Excellent film, twists and turns through to the end.
Caution- major plot spoiler coming, don't read it unless you really want to know !!!!!
The werewolf is Red Riding Hood's dad, and the blood moon is when a werewolf passes the gene to his oldest offspring, by way of a non-lethal bite or scratch, so the line can continue.
And the werewolf can always communicate with his oldest child, it's automatic. So, in human form, dad tells oldest daughter to meet him in the cornfield. He then plans to turn up in wolf-form and explain the situation, give her a quick nip, and job done. Except when he growls, she doesn't understand. The penny drops- she isn't actually his daughter, wife had an affair years ago. Rip, shred. So on to daughter number 2, Red.

Gaga, Born This Way- the best just got better
If after Paparazzi, Bad Romance and Telephone anyone still laboured under the impression that Gaga was just a disco-queen, this should put them right. There's huge variety between the tracks, e'g' the slow and dramatic Bloody Mary, the quirky Americanos, and the full-on rock of Edge of Glory. And of course every track features The Voice- and what a voice it is. She has power (but not Whitney-style ear-drum-bursting) and range, and every note is hit perfectly. No electronic trickery or gizmos, just the finest voice in modern music.
Stonkingly good album from an amazingly talented lady.
