Mel Gibson's Hamlet is my favourite film adaptation of Shakespeare's play.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet, directed and played by Mel Gibson, is my favourite film version of Hamlet, and I searched specially for it. Mel Gibson played the part of Hamlet so naturally; he made the play make better sense than previous adaptations. He didn’t over dramatise the part when he found Warwick’s skull, and he played mad or disturbed, like only Mel Gibson can. Helena Bonham Carter also played a convincing Ophelia as she is slowly driven mad and then driven to suicide by Hamlet. Mel Gibson then played a most moving Hamlet ridden by grief at the news of Ophelia’s death. All of this leading to a most tragic end. The film stayed true to Shakespeare’s story and dialogue throughout, and interpreted its self well.

David Redmayne played the eccentric Newt Scamander to perfection.
The film immerses into the Harry Potter Universe. It is great escapism. David Redmayne played the eccentric Newt Scamander to perfection, which was my main reason for buying the DVD and watching the film for a second time.

A Great Classical British War Film
The Bridge On The Rivera Kwai is one of the great classical British war films based on a true story. The wooden bridge that was blown up was replaced within weeks with a pre-fabricated bridge that stands to this day. The story is about British prisoners of war that were forced by the Japanese to work on the Burma railway. A must see film.
