Excellent headrest for long trips

Great to entertain kids on long trips. Connected to an Eonon 2 DIN head unit purchased also from Ebay. Screen becomes washed out under bright sun light (as any LCD screen would). My kids used blankets over their head and LCD to watch the movies on our long road trip last week. No more whining and complaining this time on long trips !

Replacement motherboard for an HP G62 with broken video chip

This laptop model (and also others from HP) is well known to have an issue with an ATI video chip in BGA package that will fail overtime. This is a total design fault from HP with inadequate heatsinking for a chip with such high power dissipation. The CPU and video chip are basically cooled through the same heatsink/fan assembly. Whoever designed this thing should be long fired !! The video chip will basically unsolder itself from the PCB due to high temperature cycling it experiences. Using a temperature monitoring software, the core of the CPU chip reached 80deg C. I do not know what the video chip temperature is but surely, the thermal design of this laptop is not adequate. If you decide to fix your laptop, buy a new or refurbished board, the one whose BGA chip has been professionally removed and resoldered. Do not buy a used motherboard pulled from an old laptop as the life will be greatly shortened.
