Entertaining ... but not like the tv series.
These books are an entertaining read but be warned the Lovejoy character bears only a passing resemblance to the TV version. The original is darker, more violent ... including in his sometimes unpleasant attitude to the women in his life which does rather date them.

A darker Lovejoy than on tv
These are an entertaining series of books... but they are not at all like the tv series. Lovejoy is a far darker less pleasant charater than his TV counterpart. He is not afraid of a bit of violence... and this is sometimes directed at the ladies who drift in and out of his life. These are not works of great literature but they are an entertaining read and I have already started the next one in the series.

Fantasia on a Theme by Thoma Tallis is a fantastic composition.
