Great lens for macro
I upgraded to this lens from a 105mm 2.8 ais manual lens and I'm extremely pleased with it. Easier to use then the AI because the aperture and ISO sync automatically which makes it easier to get quick shots when I need to. Also produces sharper images than the AIS, although they were very sharp as well.

Excellent low light indoor lens
1 of 1 found this helpful Images are sharp at f2.8 and exceptional by f4.0. Compared this to a 18-200 nikon & the shots taken indoors with low to moderate lighting the image clarity were much better with the Tamron.

The clear optics in this lens has opened up a whole new world of photography to me.
