Neat bowl, but NOT A SHAVING BOWL! Paint comes off upon contact with water.
Though it was obvious this would be too small to hold any amount of lather, I thought I'd give it a shot just because. Mistake. Everywhere it made contact, the soap took off the bowl's lacquer (if you can call it that) and the lather acquired a dark colour and an abhorrent smell.
Do examine the attached photo. The bowl looked just fine when it came in, but the paint's been cleanly taken off wherever the soapy water touched it. That's certainly not a feature I want from my shaving bowls, thank you very much.
Unfortunately it's not fit for purpose. It's a pretty neat wooden bowl, but alas, not a shaving one. Probably a better idea to go with one of the chinese stainless steel ones.
