Amazing illustrations by David Wiesner
You can understand why David has won multiple awards for his picture books. The surreal yet fun storyline combined with beautiful artwork, and yes he signed a lot of his books so it even made them personal if you could get your hands on some of them!

Simple and elegant early Sabuda's work
If you're a fan of Robert Sabuda you need to own this book. The book is authored by a "Thomas Beach" which is a pseudonym that Robert used early in his career, which is quite interesting in itself. Owning this book means you have in your collection an early work of Sabuda, which reveals his thought process early in his career. The pop ups are definitely not as elaborate as his current works are, but they are minimalistic and elegant. The simple poems within it also adds to its appeal. It is a WONDERFUL experience. You will miss "The Good Ol' Days" when going through this book!

Compelling reading
Manchu is book 2 of the Elegant trilogy of the East, including Dynasty and Mandarin. R Elegant has deep understanding about life and culture of the east and if you love Novel and learn for more insights to Chinese history at same time this trilogy is a must!
