Adventurous girl enthrals unadventurous couch potato (me!)
My original copy of this fantastic factual book about a young woman's amazing adventure on a desert island with a man she hardly new has been a favourite of mine for as long as I can remember, but pages had been starting to fall out, so it was time to acquire a new copy. The edition I purchased was published at a later date than my original copy, but with the same content plus the bonus of some photographs.

NOT durable NOT strong very flimsy toilet seat not fit for purpose
I was not expecting much from such a cheap toilet seat, but it was not fit for the purpose it was intended and broke the first time someone used it. Very disappointed.

Marvellously moreish with a generous helping of cake
A great first novel from Dawn French, my attention was held right from the first line on the first page. I purchased this book, because I had read Dawn French's biography, and was curious about her story writing skills.
Each chapter of 'A Tiny Bit Marvellous' is written from the viewpoint of the different characters in the book; Mum, Mo, about to turn 50, steady and comfortable Dad, 17 year old Dora, who is full of teenage angst and a love/hate relationship for her mum, and Peter aka Oscar, the 16 year old son/brother.
Just when you think you know what's going to happen next, an unexpected twist hits you right in the face. Granny Pamela is there to comfort all, with just the right amount of sympathy - and cake (recipes are at the back of the book, which is a bonus).
