Good simple tool.
Very simple marking gauge. Nothing special. Quality is mediocre, but for a tool like this it's perfectly adequate in all but rare circumstances.

Looking okay. No surprises so far.
Decent little 17mm Edison type sockets. Good so far. Not sure how much heat they'll tolerate. I'll be using one of them with a UVC light, will be interested to see how well the socket withstands the intense UV.

Well made, well supported excellent product.
THIS thing is WELL MADE.
The one and only thing I would like -- and it's minor -- is if the digital temp and speed displays displayed both setpoint and measured temp/rpm simultaneously. In fact I think Fishersci has a model that does this very thing, but really. I just don't mind one bit. :-)
The hotplate tracks its own temp with excellent accuracy. I've tested carefully with a digital thermometer, and measurements came out within 5°C even at the high end.
The whole unit is obviously of robust cast metal construction. Powder coated apparently. Which withstands its very high heat capability without show the slightest effect.
Because of a bad bearing in the stirrer motor, I had occasion to take the bottom cover off one of these. The internals are as meticulously made as the external. Wires are nicely sheathed and routed, terminations are secure, electronics well fabricated (I've worked in the industry). In terms of manufacturing quality, with the possible exception of the occasional motor bearing, this is an extremely well made, genuinely high quality product.
Although servicing is obviously possible and easily done, when I contacted Fisher about the motor bearing they weren't able to sell me a replacement motor. Instead, because the unit was in warranty, they replaced it at no cost. That's how a GREAT manufacturer operates. I'm quite sure the only reason they can afford to give such supreme service is because their product do not often fail. They really stand behind it. New or used, I recommend this product.
