A classy mix of film noir and supernatural thriller.
Beutifuly shot by the legendary John Alton and certainly Turhan Bey's finest hour. Is the attractive young woman being haunted by her dead husband? ... or is she going mad? ... or is it all an elanorate con.?? This movie will have you wondering. Also known as "The Amazing Mr X", I was surprised at how excellent this VDV-R print was. At just under 80 minutes (and not a second of it is wasted) this film is a darn good watch if you like spooky old thrillers of the 1940s. Personally, I love 'em.!!

GREAT movie. BAD presentation.
I bought the 3-DVD Pat Boone set from this site so I am a verified buyer. This movie, is good entertainment but what they don't tell you is that it is a Pan & Scan presentation of a full wide-screen/CinemaScope movie. So what you are getting is only half of the picture in a 4:3 format instead of the original widescreen. I was bitterly disappointed. This same goes for for "Mardi Gras" and "April Love" as well so Pat Boone fans, BEWARE. If I'd known I never would have bought this. I want the COMPLETE movie. This looks like an old 16mm TV print.

Something you should know before buying.
This movie, is good entertainment but what they don't tell you is that it is a Pan & Scan presentation of a full wide-screen movie. So what you are getting is only half of the picture in a 4:3 format instead of the original widescreen. I was bitterly disappointed. This same goes for for "April Love" and "All Hands On Deck" as well so Pat Boone fans, BEWARE. If I'd known I never would have bought this at such an expensive price. This looks like a print that was used for the VHS release, It says "Formatted to fit your TV" at the start but who has a 4:3 screen these days? What a pity. It's a good movie but not when you get "half-people" on the screen
