Good - but for a couple of £'s could have been so much Better
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this item as I was impressed with its weight and cost by comparison to other units available, moreover I was particularly concerned about stability so any unit on a 3 point footprint was out of the question for me.
It arrived promptly, was adequately packaged, so no complaints.
For the record I was working on a Lotus Twin Cam Engine and the following are areas which concerned me about the product, they are not HUGE criticisms but for me it prevented a good product being great, just for the sake of maybe an extra $10.
1. The indexing head is indexed every 60 degrees – no big deal sure, but I was expecting every 45 degrees.
2. The diameter of the steel casters and wheels is relatively small – so unless you have good workshop floors beware. (I have since changed them to 3 inch rubber tired castors and wheels)
3. The handle supplied to rotate the indexing head is too small – (throw it away) – unless you work out in a Gym it is impossible to control the moment exerted whilst rotating an engine. (I used a 3 foot solid bar I had.)
4. The stand is however stable; having lost control of turning the engine with the supplied bar, the stand remained stable whilst the engine rotated in an uncontrolled manner 180 degrees.
5. The indexing head is locked by the insertion of a simple clevis pin, but with the fit being poor this still allows rotational movement in the head. (I replaced this clevis pin with a bolt)
6. The fitting of the horizontal leg, (beneath the indexing head) and supporting the front “axle” of the unit is simply a pinch bolt which when tightened, distorts the box section. (I reworked this with a captivated nut and bolt fitting)
7. Finally, what gave me the biggest headache was looking for fittings to mount the engine to the unit. I ended up looking for four off 4.1/2” UNC Bolts, washers and nuts – why could the unit not have been supplied with a selection of stud bar, washers and nuts?

Best Plastic Plant Cleaner...
This stuff is amazing!! It saves hours of cleaning the plastic plants with a toothbrush. You MUST rinse the plants in clean water 2 or 3 times before adding the solution. Leave overnight, and rinse a couple of times with clean water...hey presto it’s done!!
