Lightweight and Useless
It was not strong enough to take the weight of a blind - it goes down but doesn't come back up - useless

Absolutely great. Worth the spend and time.
Having done a bit of research on the model - I waited for one to come on that I could afford on ebay (just in case I was wrong). I got the one with the heat button - not sure if that 'really' makes a lot of difference as you use hot water anyway, but having used the machine - I would absolutely recommend it. It got a few stains out by 90% that wouldn't ever come out with vanish or soap and a cloth, and I was astonished at the amount of basic grit/dirt that was coming through the machine. You assemble yourself and it's pretty straight forward - also to use. My tip is to go really slowly over the wet carpet to suck it up as this means more comes up and the carpet dries quicker. I would not recommend you use it on expensive 'special or designer rugs' as it does tend to churn up a lot of lose pile and leave the rug with an uneven pile direction - if you don't sort this before it dries - you can use the hand held part to a lot better effect. One minor gripe is the machine leaking when you switch between floor and hand held part - the dirty water left in the pipe or front runs back onto the carpet and leaves a new stain - so I carried a bathroom mat and would plonk it on that if I swopped or stopped to hand held. Also doing stairs you have to use the hand held appliance and machine at same time - so a second person is pretty essential.
But overall it's worth the spend, you don't do it that often and once you have it you dont have the hassle of hiring or assembling again. You could always share the cost with someone else.
