Breathtaking and Eye Opening
Wow... where do I even begin. I was once the same small child captivated by the magic and in awe of the orca and trainer relationship at seaworld in Florida even up to my adult life until i watched Blackfish and began to reading this book. Its only now that i realise human ignorance and our love for entertainment that i realise we are a cruel species. This book is eye opening to the horror that captivity can cause for the animals and the trainers working them. A wonderful insight into the life as a trainer, the life of a captive orca. Some lovely memories from johns trainer days but filled with realism that truly, these whales dont really live... they exist to entertain and make a hefty profit for the companies that exploit them and their trainers. I will definitely be reading this again. One of my best buys!
