Magnet won’t hold cover on

I’m so disappointed with this. My previous one lasted for many years, but this one is trash! The magnet that this is to attach to the iPad doesn’t hold, it falls off immediately. I don’t know if it’s the cover over the magnet, or the magnet itself buy it’s useless. I’ll just throw it away as it’s not worth the money or effort to try and send it back for a refund. Obviously this is defective merchandise, it came in a plain plastic type cover without any Apple insignia. Although it looks like a Apple product I find it questionable!
