Works well but disappointed one RAM doesn't work

It works well except for the one RAM slot that does not work. If two RAM sticks are put in the computer will now boot up or go in to POST and the monitor will not light up and the computer will shut off after about 30 to 45 seconds. One RAM stick will allow the computer to function properly. I'm a little disappointed that it was supposed to have been fully tested for functionality and I can only use one RAM slot.
