A bad choice camcorder
3 of 10 found this helpful Sony DCR-SR37E camcorder has serious flaws: 1. The microphone is located on the top of the cam s body instead of on the front facing into the direction the camera is filming. It is right next to the fingers -- all finger movements on the camera become audible on the recording. 2. The Hard Disk is a bad choice -- all disk s noise -- clicking, humming, etc. -- is very noticeable on the audio recording. This would not be a problem with a memory card camcorder model only, which records silently. WIth the HD, one needs extra cables to download or transfer the recording. Better is a cam with only a momory card which could be easily transferred to any computer, etc., or hooked up through a USB port and a card reader. 3. The 60x optical zoom is useless -- could not hold steady in hand, and the picture quality on such a distance is very bad -- too much nois. The cam is lacking an optical shaking stabilizator -- a must for such a zoom. 4. The picture quality per se is very low. Lacking sharpness overall. The AF is too slow, and the picture in low light is bad -- does not go to 0 lux, only to 6, which is not enough. 5. Lack a pad to hook up an external light and a camera remote starter through a baloon or similar device. 6. The operational menu is ridiculous to navigate, and the cam lacks some important basic features. 7. The lens is not "wide" enough, for example, to get an entire person into the screen while in an ordinary room -- to get an adult into the picture, I had to go some 7 meters away, which is too far and a space usually not available in an ordinary home. 8. The operating buttons are at wrong spots -- the holding of the camera seems unnatural, the right hand is in a spasm-like position, the button to switch between the cam and the still camera could not be pressed with the right hand s fingers, and, instead, one must use the left hand by crossing it in front of ones face -- an action requiring to stop and move the camera. A person with thicker fingers will not be able to press that button at all -- too small and shallow. 9. While the cam could recharge the battery when hooked up to it, the cam could not operate while recharging -- the recharging ability thus could not be used while filming, and one needs another charger, unless charging the batteries before hand. However, the battery lasts about 1-1,5 hour at the most. And so on. I would not buy this camcorder or any similar one ever again, and am happy I got rid of it (in part, because the seller did not provide all the accessories which were supposed to come with it), and do not recommend anyone to buy it no matter the price. It is better to spend more money on a highers quality cam.

Fish Hook Light Weight
The hook of the weight is small -- it is difficult to hang stuff on it, and very impractical to make provisional hooks or bends. The holder ring is too small -- I could not imagine to hold the weight if trying to weight something above 20 kg (one could use only 1-2 fingers, and that is not enough to hold it then). While using of AAA batteries is great -- easily accessible anywhere, the smiling control buttons are a very bad choice. Because of a high elevated on/off button, no matter where and how you store the weight with batteries inside, it gets turned on uncontrollably, thus using the batteries. Those buttons should be deep below the outer shell surface of the casting in order to prevent this from happening. I was not able to check its accuracy, though. No manual came with it. While one could think that anyone could operate it, in times it acted erratically and I had to fix it by turning it on and off -- when all 8 well displayed on the display, it did not do anything and I was not able to find out how to get it work. Also, I have no idea what TAR means and is supposed to do. That should fix a short manual. Otherwise, not a bad stuff for the money I paid for it.

Head Magnifier not bad but not too great either
2 of 2 found this helpful The 10x magnifying is not strong enough for some work. The viewed objects must be too close to the lens, which makes it difficult to work with it using tools -- the magnifier becomes the obstacle. The light, although adjustable, is on top of the magnifier and could not be set to shine straight ahead paralelly with the eyeview -- thus, one could not see into small, narrow deeper objects, because its its walls cast shadows off the light. It is not strong enough to be noticeable in daylight. One does not use this in darkness. Very difficult to focus with both eyes. A better design would be to magnify only for one eye and leave the other eye open for normal view. The issue that, when in need to see without magnification, one must move the head -- often impractical, because of loosing the magnification focus. The price is very good, but cheap stuff is not always the best choice if the tools does not work well. However, there are not such tools as I described above. All of them are more or less copycats of this one. Perhaps, if the light was stronger and inside the magnifier instead of on the top of it, it might help.
