Chronos USB to mini-B gold plated cable (high speed data)
We used this cable for a microphone. Transmitting data 16-bit at 44kHz.
The lead performs well, and the connexions were a tight fit. The studio equipment and software we used did not find any more or less noise than with other cables, even thought the cable is comparatively slender.
The functional length of this cable is therefore a bonus; it means that you can place a microphone 9 feet in the air with a direct recording device, so reducing signal transmission losses.
Recommend for this use.

Elton's New Album
This new album is just brilliant. We all like it at home, and even my young children like the up-tempo catchy beats and piano. It's a though we have the Elton of the 1970's back again. Yes there are elements of Elton John's early works, but it is all, so very well rounded and produced that the overall impression is easy to listen to. If you listen to and have other Elton John albums, then this album is a cross between 21 at 33, Too Low for Zero and Caribou with a little bit of Tumbleweed to boot!
Perhaps are dynamic duo could really push the boat out, and do something akin to Captain Fantastic, Yellow Brick Road and Rock of the Westies all rolled into one. Now that would be something. But personally, I could listen to Elton playing Jazz and old Blues Rock, or just Elton's 'Rare Masters Album' or the 'Lost Demos of 69'.
Strongly recommend.

The image resolution, however, is just plain excellent. The photographic copying in high resolution is almost indistinguishable from the original, and the low resolution mode works well with most text ! Adobe or PDF.
I've used it on some old books, and found it easy to set up and use. You do need a steady hand, and you must orientate the scanner so that the rotating spindle next to the scanner tube can turn (it resembles a paper- spooler in a conventional printer)- I'm guessing that this rotating spindle is part of the page measuring.
That said, there are two things to remember. The scanning window will capture closer to the book's spine when oriented in a particular way, so you need to practice a little. You can scan up or down, or side to side! And secondly, when you load the OCR software, make sure the mini-CD is firmly in the CD reader on your laptop- listen carefully, it should not make any rattling sound. The conversion function from Abobe or PDF files into Word files has worked very well indeed for me. Although, some of the Greek and Hebrew texts that I converted were not so great, but after all, the Word converter is not supposed to be a universal translater, so watch out for that.
Overall, the device has worked very well indeed. I used a Class 4 original TF micro-SD card 16Gb, and Duracell Ultra Power batteries.
