HOATC! Sublime. Superlative. Scrumptious Horror!
This is an unmissable gorefest of a horror film with ALL the right elements in ALL the right quantities. Yes there is a plot of sorts. Yes there is a large portion of humour. And.. Oh yes, there is not an insignificant amount of frights and gore. A proper full-on sherry-trifle of a film wot will leave you feeling gleefully grubby after watching. There is also rather a lot of the worst kind of language! I would say that this has re-watch value. You'll know whether you're going to like or love this fillum within the first 10 minutes. Captain Spaulding is an absolute star.

Olympus Camedia C-765 Stonker!
Modern compact manufacturers are getting carried away with megapixel count and seem to be abandoning everything else, resulting in some proper munters. This C-765 is "Only" 4Mp but produces fantastically sharp images with low noise due to a nice big lens. I have an A4 pebbly beach scene print on my wall taken with this and the bubbly sea is there with all it's detail and the sky graduation is as smooth as blancmange (the pudding, not the band!). Long exposures are crisp with no noise (in my experience). It was only when buying other compacts that I discovered what purple fringing, blurry/dark corners, noise and bad exposure were. Also, despite scores of outings and thousands of shots, this has outlived other cameras I've had and still works flawlessly. I don't need the zoom lens and bought the camera for the pic quality alone; I wish they did a similar model without such a prodruding lens or with a wider one. I have a 2X lens adapter but it makes the camera ridiculously bulky & obscures the flash. If the lens didn't stick out when closed, this camera would travel with me more of the time instead of my much more compact Nikon S3. Drawbacks: Unnecessarily long lens IMHO (although it is called an ultra-zoom). No image stabilisation which kind of supports the above. Lens starts at 38mm equv. -if it started at say, 28mm it would be awesome! I found the controls fiddly at first but soon got used to them. The display goes black when you actually shoot, making it tricky keeping moving objects in-frame. Er.. struggles to focus in poor light? Not uncommon. Video is pants. But who buys a 'stills' camera to shoot video anyway? If you want better quality shots in pretty much all situations, and don't mind a camera which won't comfortably fit in your pocket or go wide, I would urge you acquire one of these on ebay. I paid £250- for mine new and it's one of the best purchases I've made. I've tried countless compact cameras since and just can't find one which matches this for picture quality but with less bulk (Lumix TZ3/5's come close but, excruciatingly, they are noisy and have no manual controls!). Curiously, considering the advances in technology, I think with some digicams it's a case of "They don't make 'em like they used to!". You can keep your face/smile/blink detection; I want a quality image -let me worry about the content.
