Exactly what was needed
Ford has some well known but as yet unacknowledged by them problems/defects with the 2002-2004 Explorer SUV's. One of which is the tendency for this trim piece covering the exterior tailgate latch handle to crack or break from routine use. That's what happened to mine. Long story short, a new part is available from Ford but is expensive and comes in a primer finish requiring prep, and paint match. The used part I got is the same color as mine and is worn similar to the rest of the 13 year old vehicle looking and fitting like the original at about half off the price of new. Great deal, 5 minute install.
