Extremely interesting, funny informative but also sad.
Iv wanted this book for a long time but i just never have time to read. When Covid 19 hit and lock down happened, i took my chance and im not ashamed to say iv polished this book off in just under 3 days. I absolutely loved it. I have an extremely keen interest in the war since school ans id hear all sorts of stories from veterans from all around my military city but these accounts was something else, stuff i never really knew or had read myself or been told. There was moments i smiled, had a giggle, that i genuinely felt sad and moments i felt sick for these amazing gents and ladies who gave there all, and obviously the build up to the evacuation of all the troops grom dunkirk what was nothing short of a miracle. Even if you have no interest in the war i would suggest this book as just a piece of our history, your really do get a feel for how these poor chaps felts. Iv got forgotten voices of D Day coming next for me to bury into.
