Classic cars of the 30's and 40's
Born in 1934 I can vaguely remember some of the cars my father had during this time. Since he worked as a designer in naval ordinance and weaponry he was allowed a fuel supply to use and maintain his 1936 Hillman Minx. After the war his first car was a1937 Triumph Vitesse followed by a Standard Vanguard which I used to pass my test in 1952. This book re-affirmed all my beliefs in the state of the British motor industry. Having recently disposed of my Rover 45.... wife !!! I still own and enjoy my relatively new, 1959 Sunbeam Alpine. The Rootes family goes deep.

It's in the Blood
I found the book quite fascinating, although I do not or even did not have the financial facility of Mr Sedgwick. Growing up and learning to drive in the early fifties my cars were of the 20s' and 30s', the y were available and within my budget, owning an early 1927 Austin 7 followed by an Austin Nippy and the Speedy. Next car was a Singer Le Mans and a Triumph Monte Carlo. Sadly the Army reduced me to Jeep!!! Apres military I took a Sales position with Frazer Nash cars so my love of what are now known as " Classics" was perpetuated. To-day a Peugeot and my 1968 Sunbeam Alpine satisfy my motoring life, though I still live the earlier years. It's in the Blood
