A definate upgrade from the Icy-Hot device
2 of 2 found this helpful My wife uses this to treat pain associated with hert Sciatica problem. She has used the I-H device for several months and found it very useful. However it suffered from a couple of limitations that are remedied in the Aleve device.
The first is the battery selection, The I-H device used 2032 watch battery, which is not designed for high current applications like this, it is designed for low power, long duration applications, like say.... a watch. The pair if AAA batteries in the Aleve device are much better suited to the task at hand, providing substantially more power and doing it for much longer.
The second is the controls. The remote control on the Aleve device is a major improvement over the non- remote controls on thr I-H device. It was hard for my wife to adjust the I-H device without removing it or trying to be a contortionist.
