The Definitive Bonefish Guide
This book is the ONLY Bonefish guide I have bought and not wanted to put down. PERIOD. I'm planning a trip to Fly Fish for Bonefish and I wish this had been my first purchase. It doesn't matter where you plan to fish for this elusive species, this book by Randall has it all.......The Subject, The Tactics, The Presentation, and a whole 19 chapters just on how and why, and thats before you've even got to the destinations. I could list what they all are but you'll see for yourself when you buy it. Randall hasn't left one stone unturned with this guide. He also includes write ups on other species including Tarpon, Milkfish and of course Permit, and again goes into detail where, how and when. If anyone is planning a self guided trip for Bonefish, DO NOT GO, until you've read this book. Randall covers, Tides, Flys, Stalking, Retrieve and Tackle. It really is everything you need. If your trip includes a guide then this will only help with your trip because it will help you to ask the right questions of your guide that you wouldn't ask without the knowledge. Whilst the pictures are wonderful and it's nice to look and day dream, the real power of this book is the knowledge and understanding you will gain. You won't be disappointed.

Good Hooks and Decent Materials
The hook is often a good test as to the quality of flies as well as good symmetry and even balanced lines. I've not used these yet but they look to be well tied and more than suitable for the task. Thanks.

Samsung DVD-1080P7 DVD Player
Whilst waiting for the Blu Ray and HD DVD battle to reach a decision I wanted to make use of my new HD TV. I decided that although I had a DVD recorder with HDMI Upscale which I'd never used located elsewhere in the house, I wanted a sub £75 player dedicated to the TV I'd recently bought. I read a number of reviews on these "Upscaling DVD Players" and decided to go with the Samsung to match the TV. The player is very slim which was what I wanted, the glossy front makes it look very expensive and the simple Blue LED on/off switch also add to the look. The player doesn't have lots of functions and when you're only buying it to play DVDs, this makes it very easy to use. There is definately a noticable difference when you play your "Newer" DVDs. I think the important thing to note here is that whilst it upscales, your older films will not really look alot different. The DVD's from say 2006 onwards are where you will notice a difference. This review isn't to plug other items, but the important thing with matching your Upscaling DVD player to your HD TV is the HDMI cables you use. Go for V1.3 which support 1080p otherwise you're wasting your money, and buy from a reputable supplier too.
