Quick & Easy to Fit
1 of 1 found this helpful Not only is this pretty cheap as baby gates go, but it's a doddle to set up, with only 8 short screws, plus you get a simple template to help you locate the screws, to avoid errors. Stick the template to the door frame (or wherever you're fitting it) with some tape, and push your bradawl through, and you're sorted. The only other tools I needed were my trusty cheapo electric screwdriver, and a tape measure to make sure the screw centres were lined up properly with the frame, and off I went. A spanner is included to help you tighten up the setting bolts, and there's even a little pip of plastic that you can install to make the gate only swing one way.
A little tip - if you're installing it in the frame of a doorway, put the hinge point as far away from the door hinge as possible to give you the widest opening of the gate when the door is open. It'll also allow your door to close properly and keep the handle from binding on the gate.
VERY good kit, even more so for the money. My only gripe is that I wish the template was a bit less floppy. I tore mine removing it, which might not seem like much of a hardship, but if you're like us and use the gates with the animals (dogs in our case), you do occasionally remove and replace them around the house, so keeping the template handy is wise.

It's big and pointy
This is the rebox of the surprise Zvezda kit from 2016, and it's 1:2700 scale makes for an impressively large kit - 60cm from tip to tail. It doesn't have a mass of parts, and the hull is so large that it is moulded as fore and aft plates top and bottom. There also isn't a huge amount of detail, so if you're not planning on adding lighting to distract the eye, you'll need to do some fancy painting to stop it from looking toy-like. There are aftermarket parts from Green Strawberry however, and you can also buy 3D printed parts from Shapeways, but they ain't cheap.
That all sounds a bit negative, but it isn't meant to - it's a great kit of an iconic starship, so get one! :)

Remember a power supply, and it's a great charger
If you haven't yet twigged, you need a PSU to get this to work, and a lot of laptop PSUs will work, or you could buy a suitable one at the same time. It's a robust feeling unit with an anodised metal shell, with plenty of leads, and a fairly easy operating system. There are loads of options, plenty of sockets to plug your different batteries into, and it's all covered by the manual. For the price it's a brilliant piece of kit, and it has replaced two existing chargers as well as adding LiFe charging, so I have spare 3-pin sockets now.
