Worth getting used to :-)
1 of 1 found this helpful You do need a self healing cutting mat, but most crafters have those anyway.
The first thing I cut were some patchwork squares, using a metal ruler as a guide. The rotary cutter is absolutely fantastic for this.
It has a great handhold handle and you don't need much pressure to use it at all and I was cutting through 4-6 layers of cotton fabric.
I then tried using it to cut out a dress pattern. You need to persevere with it. I was all over the place in the beginning, but after doing a few practice runs on spare fabric I was away and cutting out the pattern loads faster then using scissors. It also cuts flat on the mat, so no chance of not cutting precisely.
I wont be going back to scissors for cutting out fabric again
