OK book for beginning a first layout.
Wiring Your Model Railroad book would probably be ok for a person beginning a first layout and working on their wiring plans for it.
The book jumps around between both DC and DCC wiring leaving one wondering which components (decoders, types of turn-outs, wires) to use where.
However, there are some very good pointers in a few of the chapters.
Books (1&2) by Paul Mallery, although dated, are more detailed for layout wiring and signal workings.

Good Wire---No Spool!!!
Wire itself is good quality---no problems with it. Our issue is that it arrived without a spool, just coiled up. Hence 3 stars.
