Time will tell

I do love this kettle. I love the look of it and, when it works, it is great. So this particular one i just bought brand new off ebay and it is perfect. However, prior to this i had the exact same kettle also brand new and it worked well for 3yrs. And then one day it didnt. It was exactly 3 yrs old, almost to the day. We checked obvious things like the fuse but we couldnt fix it.. Its only coz i love the look i have bought another the exact same. I dont know what the expected life expectancy of a kettle is these days. My old russell hobbs went well for 27yrs. I very much doubt this new one will do 27ys, but hopefully more than 3.

Hit and miss

Oxbow varies so much in quality. When it is good, it is superb but i have had a few batches now that are very stalky and straw like.
