Gillen's Done It Again, and Wjingaard Elevates It Further
One of the greatest comics of all time. Peter Cannon Thunderbolt is a deconstruction of the very *idea* of deconstruction, and on the ways Watchmen has affected comics. It has pointed out that some were good, some were less good, and regardless its time for comics to move on. Gillen's work is smart, clever(yes, there's a difference), and tells a story that is both compelling on its surface, and offers a lot to say about comics. Caspar Wjingaard's art is not only excellent, but also varied. If I didn't know better, I'd honestly believe it was multiple artists, because he some of the issues demand that he turns into a functionally different artist. As a huge Kieron Gillen fan, I'm not really shocked about how amazing this book is. But the book goes from being Amazing to An All-Time Classic at 2 years old thanks to the combination of Gillen and Wjingaard working in perfect tandem.

An Excellent Series All In One Place
In this omnibus, Tom Taylor and friends tell a compelling tale starring Laura Kinney, The Wolverine. With a perfect mixture of comedy, drama, violence, and heart, I think this is definitely the best Wolverine book that's ever been written. Taylor manages to make this book be a lot of fun, while also exploring Laura's trauma, and creating delightful new characters such as Gabby Kinney and Jonathan the literal wolverine. I waited a long time for this omnibus and it was worth the wait.
