So far so good
Let me start by qualifying my review in that I have not had the opportunity to use this yet. I am planning to go on a simple pool dive this next week, though and will be able to test out the inflator, pull dump, etc.
The quality of this alternate air source seems to be really good. It is about twice the size of my original inflator, but the fact that I can eliminate a hose from my first stage and this still seems to lie flat should easily make up for the additional size. It is still smaller than my other octo, so all in all I still downsized overall.
The alternate air looks stylish, too. The install was super easy since my inflator hose is the standard and therefore needed no adapters. I look forward to using this soon (as an inflator, not as a needed alternate air source). I am planning to try breathing through it just to make sure I know what to expect in the case of an emergency.
