Great DVD for basics of baby signing
1 of 1 found this helpful I wanted this for my baby son (10mths) as my elder daughter had communication difficulties and signing (aged 3) was a real breakthrough to help her speech come along and prevent frustration. I can see that signing is a great tool to go alongside verbal communication. This DVD is good as it is quite watchable (presenter not too irritating!) and the signs given are the first set you would need (eat, drink, please, more, help, pain, animals etc)They are presented in the course of a song and whilst I may not remember all the words, I think the signs will stick with me (although I have seen some before). They are practically the same as the ones used on CBeebies. It will also help me to have the DVD to re-watch again and again at home it as it is difficult (and expensive)to go to the classes. Hopefully these basic signs will get communication going and we won't need the more advanced ones!!
