Garmin Swim Watch

leaked almost immediately, stopped working after three swims, very disappointed

This watch was faulty from the start and I am quite upset with this purchase. The watch leaked after second swim. After my first swim, I noticed a bit of condensation, but no problem with functionality. After my second swim, it was a bit more obvious, and during the third one, it started to malfunction. At first it just kept resetting, asking me if I wanted to "save" "delete" or "continue" tho I was in the middle of my swim. Then it froze (the screen froze, I mean). And finally, it went black. Now it is simply blank. I had a Garmin Swim for several years and loved it. I would have bought another one new, if Garmin still made them, but they do not. I was really hoping not to have to buy a Garmin Swim 2, because frankly I don't want a watch full of apps, sleep monitoring, etc. I just want a good watch to track only my swims.

Excellent

I love this book. I can't wait for it to be Thanksgiving already, to have an entire meal plan all set and make the turkey cutlets (homemade seitan), the mac and cheeze, the raw sweet potato pie, etc. I really love this book.

Fantastic streetwise style, amazing dialogue

This is a fantastic novel-slash-collection of short stories. I used it for a course I taught and my students all really liked it, too. Young Colombian-American woman growing up in NJ and FL, streetwise and trying to find her place. If you like Junot Díaz, I think you'll really like it. Her turns of phrase are amazing, and really quite deep reflections on what it means to be "American" expressed with such blunt language it almost hits you on the head like a ton of bricks. Definitely a 21st century text reflecting the melange that is the US. Highly recommend.
