Dewalt DCM561PBS 18v XR Cordless Brushless Grass Line Trimmer Split Shaft - Bare
4 of 4 found this helpful I'm very impressed with this but of kit. It's a solid high quility tool and fairly long compared to the big standard 240v strimmers you usually get from garden centres. I have an average to small size garden but the grass was very overgrown, especially the borders as they haven't been done most of the summer due to my last strimmer packing in. This cordless strimmer cut away the thick tall grass no problem, the wire is fairly thick and hard to break unless your putting it where you know you shouldn't. It's surprisingly powerful for a cordless, more than the 240v ones I've had in the past. I'd avoid trying to cut too much at once though as it will burn the motor out eventually. I did use the strimmer to cut up some bramble vines, it didn't like it but sliced through the smaller vines no problm.. I used a 5mah battery that displayed a full charge {3 bars} but I can't remember when it was last charged, this lasted for my whole garden without running out of juice, it still displayed 1 bar when I was done.
If you already have DeWalt cordless tools and batteries, it's a no brainer, definitely add this to your collection you don't be disappointed, I just wish DeWalt would do many more garden tools as other brands perticularly Ryobi have a much better selection of kit but a rate dewalts quality over most of the other brands.
