Excellent piston pen
The Wing Sung 3008 is a great piston fountain pen for less than £5 delivered. The plastic does not feel cheap, the nib writes well. The screw on the inside of the cap rusts, but you can replace it with a stainless steel screw M4 x .70 4-5mm in length.

Great and cheap lens!
Cheapest Nikon macro lens you can get. It takes great pictures, and is reasonably easy to focus. I'm happy with mine
Downsides: Only 1:2 reproduction ratio (get a PN-11 tube for 1:1), you don't get metering on cheaper Nikon DSLRs (but manual metering isn't too horrible; worst case you can take multiple pictures of the same subject with different settings and hope to get it right at least once)

Great earplugs
Very good earplugs for sleeping. They are thicker than usual earplugs, which makes them better for those with larger ears. Although advertised as single-use they can be washed and reused with no apparent problem.
