THORN APOLLO 40B & 40C LO LIMIT STAT (WHITE SPOT) 402S185 WAS 402S115 - NEW
    30 Dec, 2020
Either a badly-chosen equivalent, or simply broken.
This was not an original part, so I don't know if it is broken,or simply a badly-chosen equivalent. It didn't work in my boiler, so I tested it with a hotplate and resistance meter next to a known good hi limit stat. While the hi limit stat clicked open and closed as expected, this one stayed closed all the time. I've ordered a genuine one from elsewhere.
    No Nonsense Sealant Remover 100ml
    11 Aug, 2017
    Works well with acrylic sealant.
I'd used acrylic sealant on my bath, and quickly regretted it, because it dried hard, shrank, and then cracked. I wanted to remove it and use silicone sealer instead. Most sealant removers seem only to remove silicone, but this one claimed to remove acrylic, too. Anyway, I bought some. I was a bit worried that it might also do something to my acrylic bath, and pvc wall panels, but it didn't affect either. It says to leave it for 15 minutes, but since I wasn't in a hurry, I left it for a few hours. After that, the old sealant went soft again, and could be pulled out. Very happy. You don't get much, but I'd say that I only used about a third of the tub to do one bath, even though I was slapping it on quite thickly.
