YALE Keyed Alike Euro Cylinder Lock Anti Bump uPVC Aluminium Door Barrel Pair
28 Nov, 2017
Upgrade your door security for not much money.
These are great quality six lever locks that are an easy direct replacement for older less secure 'easy to bump' five lever locks. If you are replacing a single door it is literally a two minute one screw job to swap over (if you are changing double doors you will have to take the middle bit off the second door which is a bit of a faff on as it means removing around six fixing screws to get to the lock fixing screw. Be aware that the keys are much bigger than standard Yale keys and some key cutting places don't keep the blanks. I was quoted £12 for one key by a backstreet locksmith and Timpsons said that they blanks weren't available, but my local 'cobbler' had similar blanks in stock for £4.95 that worked a treat after he modified them slightly by grinding the shoulder off.
Triumph Bonneville 2016 - 2019 Renntec Motorcycle Sports Luggage Rack Black
09 Nov, 2021
Close but no cigar.
I've had a few of these Rentec racks for various bikes over the years, generally they are very good quality and fit well. This one wasn't as good quality as my previous ones and was supplied with the wrong size bolts in the sealed pack. Good points... Fits well and looks good on the bike. Bad points... Welds and paint finish are not as good as previous Rentec racks that I have bought. Parts check list said M8 bolts and M8 washers but the sealed plastic bag actually contained M6 bolts and N8 washers (how can this happen?). The supplier (M&P) were reasonably prompt in sorting it out with Rentec posting the correct M8 bolts out to me. But it meant me having to strip the back mudguard assembly off the bike twice as I had to wait four days for the correct bolts to arrive and needed to use the bike in the meantime.
Celestron Illuminated RACI Finderscope 9x50
22 Jul, 2020
A great finderscope let down by a poor mounting + a couple of niggles.
Fitted to an Celestron 8SE. (When I say 'scope' in this review I mean the finderscope and not the telescope itself). This is a good scope that could have been an excellent scope. The scope itself is great, it's how it fits to the mount that is the problem. The front of the scope is wedged into the mount ring with what is effectively a large rubber grommet which holds the scope reasonably well (but not perfect by any means), the problem is with the back adjusting screws. One of the screws is 'fixed' with a weak spring loaded tip meaning that all of the adjustment is achieved with the other screws. In theory this *should* work but to align the scope with the main telescope one of the screws has to be wound out so far that it is so loose that it isn't actually doing anything and could fall out at any time. This means that if you so much as touch the scope it moves about in the mounting and as such needs realigning every few minutes. The illuminated cross hairs make centring bright objects easy but even on the dimmest setting they are still far too bright and blind your eyes to dimmer objects. Also, annoyingly, the scope didn't come with any fixing screws (and the screws that hold the existing 'red dot' finder are too short to hold this thicker mount). Screws needed are 8-32 10mm to 12mm long for the 8SE. In conclusion I'm quite pleased with the scope itself but it is a pain having to spend more time continuously aligning the finderscope than exploring the heavens.
