Great little bag
I'm using these as binocular cases for 7x35, 8x30 and 6x30 (US WW II military) binocs. They're sturdy, compact, lightweight and inexpensive, and don't have the bulk or "steal me" appearance of leather cases. May also be useful for carrying loose shotgun shells in the field this fall for the same reasons: durable, light, compact. The little toggle buttons are secure and add a bit of retro styling too.

Poor quality; defective and useless bulb
Bulb was defective and collapsed when pumped. Totally useless.

Dated but very useful
These are nicely designed units which are great for a small console on a center console boat. But they are too popular with motorcyclists to be a bargain, still I guess good value since newer ones are priced way too high for those of us with short seasons.
I prefer the earlier units that use AA batteries as you can replace these readily if your 12 v fails, and don't have to worry about charging up those heavy and less reliable nicads, or buying new replacements at silly prices.
The maps are a bit dated for the earlier versions but the primary obstacles still are there if you're concerned about rocks and reefs. Good for day sailing or fishing, but not for circumnavigating, of course.
Generally overpriced even on Ebay, but the Bluechart maps are pretty reasonable and available.
Still a favorite for casual use.
