Cheap and good quality

If your on a limited budget I would highly recommend this lens.
2 of 2 found this helpful Very pleased with the purchase of the lens. Being such a range of 120-400mm, I would expect some limitations especially at the long end and f5.6. I shoot mainly at 400mm at f8 and find that the lens performs beautifully with this setting. At 400mm and f5.6 the images are a little soft for my liking but as mentioned, stop it down to f8 and it's excellent. Performance is very good and I've used it for wildlife, birds in flight, motor sports and low flying RAF aircraft. The OS system is also very good and I've managed to hand hold at 400mm at 1/125 second comfortably using the OS.

Has some flaws but very hard to beat for the price.
1 of 1 found this helpful An excellent budget lens as long as you know the limitations. The front element rotates which makes the use of filters difficult. Between 55-250mm this lens is pretty sharp especially at F8 and very reasonable at 300mm. If it loses focus its not the quickest lens for re-finding the focus of a moving subject. However for the money (I paid £150) its hard to beat. I've used a Tamron 70-300mm VC and Nikon 70-300mm VR in the past and I'd rate it slightly better than the Nikon at 300mm and on par with the Tamron at 300mm. An excellent budget zoom lens.
