Outstandingly good - just take time to learn how to play a reed instrument.
Outstanding instrument. Be aware that it has the same scale as a recorder. Perfect for anyone wanting to play a read instrument rather than a 'whistle' such as the recorder. From the starting point offered by the X-20 you can learn how to use and care for a cane reed and develop the necessary breathing techniques and embouchure (use of mouth). From there you can easily transfer to a sax or clarinet which is not the case if you start with a recorder. In its own right, the X-20 is easy to learn and with just a little perseverance you will quickly learn how to play clear, clean tones. It is small and yet substantial. I would advise buying good quality reeds. A beginner might like to consider Rico 1.5 strength reeds for Bb clarinet. If you are a complete beginner or (like me) have breathing problems, and as long as you don't mind adjusting the scale you will play, you can try Rico Royal strength 1.0 for Eb clarinet .... BUT THAT DOES AFFECT THE TUNING OF YOUR INSTRUMENT and although it still works perfectly for anyone playing on their own, it would not be ideal if you are playing with others. The manual that comes with the X-20 is in German and English and is pretty basic but there is a good diagram which shows how to sound each note. If you want an alternative reed instrument at this 'entry' level you would be advised to check out the DooD or jSax made by Nuvo. (They also make the Clarineo). I have used all three but on balance, it's the X-20 that wins for me. It has lovely tones which are a cross between clarinet and soprano sax ... just make sure that if you are a beginner, you don't just expect to put it in your mouth, blow and make lovely music. There are skills and techniques to learn but with just a little bit of time and patience, the X-20 will repay you in great measure NOTE - the image I have attached is from an updated review I posted elsewhere for the identical instrument. The rest of this review is new for Ebay.

Genuinely non-slip except on top of carpet
Very thin but strong with a backing that really does keep the mat in position on vinyl flooring but the mats slide out of position if used on top of carpet. They are strong and easy to clean but if you use a vacuum beware of going over the edges as they can lift and become trapped or 'churned' by the machine. Of the two available the 'bird in cage' design is nicest but only looks at its best when viewed from the long side (eg: when placed against a worksurface). The 'Leaf' design looks best when viewed lengthwise but WHY OH WHY didn't they design it so that when two or more are placed end-to-end they would tessellate? (see photo). I use 3 of these ... one from front door to main area and then two together to lead to kitchen. (again, see photo). With a bit more thought at the design stage these could have looked even better than they do.

    Superb value for the money.
Very affordable with surprisingly good tone. I've had four of these guitars and have given them away to people who are learning. Always expect a small tweak somewhere - no guitar at this price is free of faults but this instrument rarely needs anything more than a slight adjustment to become an amazing guitar for the money. The one thing that ALL reviewers agree on is it's best to change strings and buy a really good set from the likes of Elixir, D'Addario etc. That small tweak transforms a good guitar into something really remarkable for the money.
