A compelling adventure story for young children
I love the characters and that the children have a mystery to solve. My daughter got really involved in the plot and wanted to know what happened next. i particularly liked the grandad who was quite a character. A good read for children of about 7.

i preferred the part of the story set during the war, it really made me think. i learnt a lot about how it must have been and felt i knew the people.
