How to begin to understand the different motivations for doing what we do.
It is a way of understanding very complicated issues in a relatively simple way. I'm not sure it is 100%true but it gives a way of exploring how we are different without being judgemental. It also does away with the catastrophic damage done by taking simple minded binary assessments like good /bad in favour of a spectrum of behaviours/responses.
The second half is less useful than the first.
It really helps with beginning to understand other people's motivations as well as our own!
